When I was about six months pregnant with our first child I decided I wanted to make a present for our soon-to-be family of three.
As a military family I knew we would move often so wanted something we could always take with us that would carry treasured memories for years to come. Rather than simply buying one of the paper or fabric versions I had seen in some stores I decided to get my creative hat on and give it a go myself using a scrap piece of wood.
Let's just say my very first attempt was not my finest creation. Nevertheless, it is now a cherished item in our home, holding a permanent record of our daughter's growth from the moment she was born. By also adding in our friends and family along the way we now have a treasured snapshot of family moments shared over the years.
The best thing about it is we will never have to leave it behind and can keep adding to it as our family continues to grow.
